What is Gratitude?
Gratitude as a feeling begins with receiving a gift, or construing an event in life as a gift. Then the person
feels gratitude to the giver for the gift, say thanks and feels appreciation for the gift. Then the person shows
gratitude by “putting something back in” in return for what has been received. It is not enough just to say thanks
and feel grateful. The requirement for true gratitude is to spread gratitude around to all the people in your
life.
From this experience it is possible to look for gratitude opportunities, moments of gratitude and to create
gratitude in yourself and others by being a model of gratitude.
That is the way to discharge the obligation you feel for receiving the gift in the first place. Thus Gratitude
becomes a state of mind, a place in which you can find inner peace and a sense of wholeness in your life. Gratitude
integrates all the conflicted and broken parts of your life into a meaningful whole and the process of doing that
is what we call Gratitude Healing.
